Mailchimp with Webflow
A newsletter form is simple until the second submission. The useful setup handles existing contacts, unsubscribed users, merge fields, tags and the confirmation state people see after signing up.

Why this is the key handoff
The second submission is where it breaks. A first signup works with almost any setup. What an existing contact, an unsubscribed address or a changed merge field does is the part that decides whether the list stays usable, and it is invisible until somebody submits twice.
Before you wire it
Three things that commonly go wrong.
- 01
A native embed and a Webflow form have different consent and confirmation setups
A native embed carries the audience's own confirmation settings. A Webflow form posting to the API does whatever it was built to do, so double opt-in and the consent record are configured and then tested rather than assumed either way.
- 02
Field mismatches can cause errors or incomplete records
Missing or mismatched merge fields can leave contact data incomplete or cause an error, depending on how the audience is configured. I test both the saved contact and the response that came back.
- 03
Audiences are billed and deduplicated separately
The same person in three audiences is three contacts on the invoice and three chances to be emailed twice. Tags inside one audience are usually what was wanted.
